Starring: Jude Law, Forest Whitaker and Alice Braga
Imagine a time when all your vital organs can be replaced with a
mechanical substitute, no more fighting for survival or being able
to replace a defective organ instantly. Such is the case of Repo
Men a film which centres on The Union a company creating mechanical
organs that are highly sophisticated and its sole purpose is to
save lives. The only catch is once you can't pay the bill the
company sends in repo men to take back the item without any regard
for life and limb. Remy (Jude Law) is one of the employees of The
Union, a highly skilled repo man, he suddenly suffers a cardiac
failure while on the job, upon waking up he discovers that he's
fitted with the company's own mechanical heart replacement.
With it comes a large debt to pay and a side effect of his
new heart in which his zest for his work no longer exists. Unable
to pay his debt to The Union, the company sends in Jake (Forest
Whitaker) his former partner to take him in. Now a fugitive Remy
teams up with Beth (Alice Braga) another person in the hunted list
of The Union, she shows Remy how to become a ghost out of the radar
of The Union. As a chase ensues between the former partners Remy
now becomes a reluctant figure for thousands who share the same
fate. Slated to be shown on March 19, 2010, Repo Men is directed by
Miguel Sapochnik and is released by Universal Pictures.
